The outside garden is split into two courtyard gardens, separate patio and an area laid to lawn.

The south facing front of the barn has a good display of flowers and boosts one red and one white grape vine which fruit well in summer.

Entering the garden through double gates you will see the original house (now the kitchen) before you and the large stone barn is on the left.

On the right the garden is well maintained with flowers, shrubs and trees and sweep down by steps to a canopied seating area then down a little further to the BBQ patio (here in the evening it's nice to sit, wine in hand and look over the lovely view of the Bonnieure valley.

To the bottom of the garden is a lawned area with wood store.
There is a splendid ornamental albesia tree, a fig tree and hedging that encloses this part of the garden, now we are at the back gate. Through the garden gate lies a separate plot of land next to the river that is used as a vegetable garden (shed included).

St Angeau has a new medical centre with two English speaking doctors, a school and the usual shops and is only 15 minutes from the larger towns of La Rochefoucauld & Mansle, both of which have bigger shopping centres with supermarkets etc. and 25 minutes from the city of Angouleme

La borde is a pleasant peaceful little hamlet built on the side of a valley which makes for lovely views over the woods and farmed fields.

There are about 22 homes around here most of which are built of stone, though two new bungalows have been built during our time here. There is a small house attached to the back of the barn that could be purchased to make an even more prestigous property.
